Responsibilities
- Work with the marketing team to translate design concepts into engaging and functional websites built on WordPress
- Development of custom themes and plugins
- Implement regular updates and new features to WordPress websites
- Ensure website responsiveness and a seamless user experience across all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile)
- Optimisation of page speed across WordPress websites
- Implement best practices for SEO optimisation to improve website search engine ranking and drive traffic to websites
- Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, plugins, and security updates to future-proof websites across the business
Requirements and Qualifications
Person Specification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in prioritising a heavy workload and the ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to focus on key priorities with a results driven approach
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Essential Qualifications
- Proficient in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin development
- Familiarity with PHP programming language
- Knowledge of database management systems, such as MySQL
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity of implementing and editing data analysis platforms such as Google Tag Manager/Google Analytics
- Previous experience using Moodle
- Knowledge of Javascript
