Responsibilities

  • Dealing with internal and external correspondence
  • Updating and creating word documents, such as tender submissions, employee CVs, letters, presentations and reports
  • Taking notes and actions in meetings
  • Updating and creating excel spreadsheets, such as project trackers
  • Updating information on computer databases
  • Using office equipment, such as printers, scanners and photocopiers
  • Setting up and maintaining filing systems
  • Assisting colleagues as necessary
  • Deal with queries from clients
  • Ad hoc duties as required

Requirements and Qualifications

Person Specification 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of managing multiple, complex and time sensitive tasks/activities
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload
  • Strong numeracy and IT skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Ability to be discreet and tactful
  • Ability to be courteous but firm when dealing with difficult customers
  • Efficient, well organised and self-motivated
  • Confident when using a computer and office equipment

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a fast paced environment
  • Significant previous experience of working in an administration role
  • Experience of working for a Construction/Engineering company is desirable but not essential
