Control Centres

Since building the first UK signalling control centre in 2006, Spencer Group have delivered a series of these complex structures and developed industry-leading capabilities in their design and construction. Thanks to our pioneering work in this field we are now in a position to understand and meet a control centre’s unique requirements and develop innovative engineering solutions that deliver above and beyond a project’s changing needs.

Our unique turnkey approach to designing and delivering complex multi-disciplined M&E projects enables us to deploy all of our learned experiences from previous projects, including the provision of redundant power systems and blast mitigation features in line with Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure guidance. We are also leaders in green technology in this field, having previously constructed to BREEAM ‘very good’ standard.

Clients benefit from the expertise of our planning team, who always endeavour to create a key stakeholder interface to ensure integration of services within the wider scheme are co-ordinated and delivered effectively and efficiently with clear communication. Our previous experience with control centre projects gives us the experience and knowledge to drive efficiencies and anticipate problems, so that they can be solved with the minimum of delay – whether that is a snag in the planning process, or an access problem requiring an engineering solution.

"Modernising the railway by making the signalling more efficient and reliable, in addition to integrating Network Rail’s control centre to work more closely with Southern to resolve delays more quickly, will really help to improve the passenger experience. This investment in Three Bridges represents a significant enhancement for the travelling public and a real boost to the local economy."
