Payroll Assistant
Spencer Group are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Assistant reporting to our Payroll Manager. This role is ideal for an individual who is detail-focused, reliable and accurate who is looking for a new challenge working for a family run Engineering business in the heart of Hull. All duties would be under the supervision of, and supported by, the Payroll Manager.
The opportunity to undertake further training and formal qualification would also be available.
Responsibilities
- End to end processing of hourly and monthly payroll.
- Time and attendance system reporting.
- Processing new starters and leavers for payroll purposes.
- Processing expenses.
- Finalising payroll including submission, payments, pay slips, P45 and submissions to HMRC.
- Processing company pension schemes ensuring compliance.
- Handling payroll amendments, advances, and adjustments.
- Internal reporting.
- Being the point of contact for any payroll queries.
Requirements and Qualifications
Person Specification
- Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
- Strong IT skills on all Microsoft packages.
- Highly numerate and analytical with excellent attention to detail.
- Flexible and the ability to work in pressurised situations and deliver to agreed timescales.
- Excellent organisation and administrative skills.
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times.
- Highly organised, self-motivated who is proactive in their approach.
- HMRC knowledge.
Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum 3 GCSEs grades 6-9 or equivalent (A-C)
- Relevant experience working in a similar position is essential.
