Senior Technician
As a Senior Technician you must be able to think outside of the box and come up with simple, effective solutions to complex problems. You will be required to utilise the latest 3D software environments and work with the design and build team in a fast paced environment where quality counts. You will be responsible for your own work and checking of other technicians work but more importantly be able to work together in a team where change needs to be executed in a controller manner. You will also be required to mentor apprentices as and when required.
Responsibilities
- Work accurately on projects ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity, in accordance with the design brief
- Ensure all documentation is correctly produced in accordance with Spencer Group and client procedures and securely filed
- Identify any design issues and changes as soon as they become apparent
- Work within the company’s ISO9001 quality systems
- Manage safety by design, ensuring compliance with all legal and company procedures and work with a positive and proactive attitude to safety
- Work to strict document control and checking processes
- Mentor, manage and assist other Technicians
- Give times scales for the production of work to enable a costed plan to be produced
Requirements and Qualifications
Person Specification
- Experienced and competent technician
- Skilled in the use of either Bentley Aecosim, SOLIDWORKS or Revit
- Have the ability to teach Technicians on the latest modelling packages
- Aware of health & safety requirements and have the ability to design out risk
- Ability to work unsupervised when required
- Problem solving
- Working under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Competent use of Microsoft IT systems – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Be a team player working with other members of the team to achieve project goals
Qualifications & Experience
- Must have relevant (HNC or equivalent) professional/vocational qualification
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Technician
- Previous experience of Design & Build would be beneficial
- Previous experience of working in a 3D environment is essential
