Senior Project Manager – Norwich Crown Point
Job Description
Spencer Group are recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager based within our Rail division. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong project management lead with the experience and capability of delivering works within an operational depot or similar environment.
Responsibilities
• Overall responsibility/accountability for the successful delivery of the project.
• Managing the project team to maximise efficiency and utilisation.
• Managing the specialist supply chain, supplier accounts and programme of works to ensure it achieves master project programme.
• Managing the contract programme and updating with the project planner to meet contractual reporting timescales.
• Fully understanding the scope of works and having the ability to identify change with a recovery-focused approach.
• Maximise opportunities and mitigate risks throughout the delivery phase.
• Ensuring health and safety compliance on site with a strong and positive safety culture focus
• Stakeholder management.
• Ensuring the project remains compliant under CDM.
• Ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
Person Specification
• Good organisational skills, be pro-active in their approach and have a sound understanding of working on the operational railway along with an understanding of Network Rail standards and processes.
• Structures experience and understanding having the ability to problem solve issues and resolve with input from the designer.
• Experience of AMP process.
• Management of multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Strong cost control and change management ability and experience (EWN’s, CE’s.)
• Ability to produce project documentation to a high standard and therefore achieve client acceptance including internal reporting.
• Strong understanding of CDM and safety within a rail environment, having the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risk.
• Ensuring the project QA process is being followed and evidenced throughout the delivery phase.
• Must be site based and willing to stay in accommodation near site if not within a commutable distance.
• Excellent communication skills are essential along with the ability to use basic computer software.
• Must have a proactive approach to work.
• Full UK Driving License.
Qualifications
• Civil or structural engineering degree desirable but not essential.
• Experience of delivering multi-disciplinary schemes in a live depot environment is a huge advantage.
• Experience of working to Network Rail standards.
• Project delivery experience in a lead position is essential.
• Experience of producing and presenting internal and external reports within specified deadlines.
• Some design exposure/experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Experience of working with cranes and lift planning is desirable.
• Appointed Persons qualification desirable but not essential.
• Experience of co-ordinating design changes through the TQ process.
