The initiative at Leighton Buzzard was the brain child of our project manager Dave Barber, working closely with members of Friends of the Earth and also London Midland. One of the main criteria over at Leighton Buzzard is healthy living and cycling plays a main part of this. With this in mind this was taken as the “focus for the day” – it was also planned for the same day as the LB Christmas fayre in order to capitalise on the increase of footfall through and via the station.
We were also conscious of the fact that not a lot had happened on the scheme as yet and to engage positively with the local MP and the local community would serve us well going forward.
For our part we have communicated with the local community on a monthly basis – as per normal – so they are fully up to speed with the works.
