Operations Director – Rail
Description of Role
Due to the continuing expansion of our Rail Business, Spencer Rail Engineering have a new exciting opportunity for an Operations Director based from our head office in Hull.
As part of the senior management team, you will support the MD in leading project portfolios to deliver operational and commercial success by driving continuous improvement and development. Creating a team and culture fit for our future vision.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of the Rail Business Strategy
- Identify and develop project opportunities in line with the Strategic Plan.
- Lead senior client relationships to deliver repeat business/growth.
- Build successful project teams.
- Influence your team to find and use innovative solutions to gain competitive edge
- Proactively promote and protect the Spencer brand
- Oversee operational delivery, ensuring that ALL practices and regulatory standards are achieved.
- Ensure that compliance standards are adhered to throughout construction operations
- Instil and drive a safety culture, through role model behaviours, ensuring provision of training and setting expectations
- Keep abreast of and ensure implementation of up to date regulatory and legislative requirements
- Conduct HSQE inspections, driving change and continuous improvement
- Ensure high level risks are managed and mitigated

- Provide resources with the capacity and capability to meet the requirements of sourcing, winning and delivering the future workplans.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
