Title: Technician
Locations: Based at our Humber Quays office in Hull, consideration for a flexible work location can be given.
Team: Design
Salary: Up to £75k package dependent on experience

As a Mechanical/ Electrical Technician you must be able to think outside of the box and come up with simple, effective solutions to complex problems.  You will be required to utilise the latest 3D software environments and work with the design and build team in a fast paced environment where quality counts.  You will be responsible for your own work but will work with the discipline Design Engineers.


  • Work accurately on projects ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity, in accordance with the design briefs given
  • Ensure all documentation is correctly produced in accordance with Spencer Group and client procedures and securely filed
  • Identify any design issues and changes as soon as they become apparent
  • Work within the company’s ISO9001 quality systems and BIM standards
  • Manage safety by design, ensuring compliance with all legal and company procedures and work with a positive and proactive attitude to safety

Requirements and Qualifications

Person Specification

  • Experienced and competent Electrical & Mechanical technician
  • Skilled in the use of one or more of the following Microstation / Aecosim, AutoCAD / Revit
  • The ability to produce accurate site surveys
  • Experience in Electrical and/or Mechanical installation details and Schematics
  • Ability to produce Design Risk Assessments
  • Ability to work unsupervised when required
  • Problem solving
  • Working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Competent use of Microsoft IT systems – Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Qualification & Experience

  • Must have relevant (ONC or equivalent) professional/vocational qualification
  • Experience within some or all of the following sectors: Building Services, Rail or Industrial
  • Previous experience of working in a 3D environment is essential
  • Previous experience of Design & Build would be beneficial but not essential
