Scheduler

In this role you will be familiar with planning basics and will have a good working knowledge of planning software. Working directly with an experienced Planner, and with the technical support and direction of the Project Team, you will develop a sound understanding of a portfolio of programmes throughout the project lifecycle. This role has the opportunity for development into other planning roles.

Responsibilities 

  • Supporting the creation of outline programmes in accordance with the tender/project contract information and key dates
  • Perform basic productivity and output calculations
  • Assist in managing the programme throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist in Contract planning, providing Progress updates and capture of as-built information
  • Inputting programme into various planning software
  • Producing programme reports from the software and communicating to senior planner
  • Assisting with liaising with the site management and estimating staff throughout the process, making adjustments to projects as necessary
  • Reporting and support to the Planner
  • Visiting a portfolio of project sites to fulfil function

Requirements and Qualifications

Person Specification

  • A good knowledge of engineering principles, rail and civil and structural works
  • Strong IT and particular planning software skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Independent thinking and rationale

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in an engineering setting
  • High level of skill with a number of software packages
