Mechanical Site Engineer

Title: Mechanical Site Engineer
Locations: The delivery of site industrial installations nationally
Team: M&E
Salary: Up to £50k package dependent on experience

As a Mechanical Site Engineer you shall undertake works to install, inspect, test and commission fluid systems and associated plant.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of plumbing circuits/systems
  • Undertake plumbing installations for MDPE, Barrier type pipe, dual containment pipe, ABS, Steel, copper pipe installations
  • Undertake pipe joining methods utilising glue, push fit, soldering, screwed, electro-fusion
  • Install pipe systems including pumps, booster set’s, water tanks, valves, fittings, fluid dispensers, supports and bracketry
  • Install pipe systems in plant rooms, above ground, high level, below ground, within troughs
  • Install systems to convey water, effluent, oils, diesel fuel, AdBlue and compressed air
  • Work from drawings and specifications and produce red line mark-up As-Built drawings
  • Attend site briefings, inductions and work to task briefs and local work site codes
  • Undertake pipe inspections, pressure testing, flushing, sterilisation, system commissioning
  • Ability to identify and propose alternative solutions to unforeseen installation challenges
  • Have an awareness/understanding of;
    • pipe expansion
    • lifting and positioning plant
    • Water Regulations and pollution prevention
    • multi discipline services

Requirements and Qualifications

Person Specification

  • Passionate about promoting Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Experience of working in multiple environments including existing and new rail stations, rail maintenance depots, rail sidings, offices, commercial buildings, heavy industry and Nuclear
  • Ability to work within multi-discipline team and alongside various trades/contractors
  • Self-driven and enthusiastic with willingness to learn
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours
  • Willingness to work away from home when required

Qualification & Experience

  • Relevant C&G, higher or equivalent qualification, with a minimum of at least 5 years previous experience working in a similar role
  • Full UK driving licence
