Description of Role
Working as a member of a busy IT Support team to provide support to local and remote users.

 

Responsibilities
Respond to IT Service requests using team’s systems and process documents to implement tried and tested solutions to incidents and requests. Escalating complex incidents and problems to 2nd line technicians. Helping Investigate issues and suggesting improvements / fixes where relevant. Involvement in and adherence to team’s standards and processes to implement Continual Service Improvement. Undertake project work as required under supervision and guidance to meet required deadlines and timescales. Maintaining and support the company’s internal IT systems to Meet our Service Level Agreement.

Requirements and Qualifications

Person Specification
  • Understanding of computer operating systems (Windows /
    Linux / Apple), Active Directory, Virtualisation and application
    packages (Office / Accounts / Planning)
  • Experience in and understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS,
    cabling, WiFi, switches, routers etc.. would be a definite
    advantage
  • Understanding of Service Level Agreements and ability to
    work in a manner to meet those agreements
  • Time management skills to manage own workloads ensuring
    deadlines and SLA targets are met and raising any workload
    issues with line manager
  • A Logical approach to problem solving is essential
  • Ability to communicate with staff at all levels in a positive and
    friendly manner both verbally and in writing

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • A reasonable level of basic education including GCSE passes
    (or equivalent) in both Mathematics and English and a
    relevant IT accreditation or qualification
