Business Admin Apprentice

Title: Business Admin Apprentice
Locations: Humber Quays, Hull
Salary: £11,440 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week (08:30 – 17:00)

As a Business Administration Apprentice you will be expected to work as part of an administrative team to provide support to your designated department.

As an Apprentice you will be able to work in either Quality, Document Control or IT Support.

You will also be responsible for covering the main Reception where you will be required to supply information regarding the organisation to the general public, clients and employees. You will also be required to attend to visitors and deal with enquiries on the phone and face to face and all other duties associated with a main reception.

Your development will be well structured and geared towards you building a career with Spencer Group.

Responsibilities

• Dealing with internal and external correspondence
• Word processing documents, such as letters, presentations and reports
• Using office equipment, such as printers, scanners and photocopiers
• Setting up and maintaining filing systems
• Updating information on computer databases
• Answering the telephone and directing calls
• Assisting colleagues as necessary
• Answer main telephone, screen and direct calls
• Take and relay messages
• Provide information to callers
• Greet persons entering Spencer Group
• Direct persons to correct destination
• Deal with queries from clients
• Ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of Spencer Group
• Receive and process mail and deliveries
• Study towards and complete the NVQ Level 2/3 Diploma in Business Administration
• Ad hoc duties as required

• Ability to be discreet and tactful
• Ability to be courteous but firm when dealing with difficult customers
• Efficient and well organised
• Self-motivated and able to use initiative
• Confident when using a computer and office equipment

Qualification & Experience

• Good GCSE grades A-C in Maths & English (or equivalent)
• Experience is desirable but not essential
• An interest in working in an IT department would be desirable
