Job Title: Business Admin Apprentice (within the IT Department)
Location: Humber Quays Office, Hull
Type: Apprenticeship
Salary: £11,440 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, flexible start/finish times

 

As a Business Administration Apprentice you will be expected to work within the IT Department providing administrative support.

You will also be responsible for covering the main Reception (when required) where you will be required to supply information regarding the organisation to the general public, clients and employees.  You will also be required to attend to visitors and deal with enquiries on the phone and face to face and all other duties associated with a main reception.

Your development will be well structured and geared towards you building a career with The Spencer Group.

You will also study towards and complete the NVQ Level 2/3 Diploma in Business Administration.

Responsibilities 

Within the IT Department you will be required to;

  • Maintain IT Stock levels by liaising with team members and ordering equipment as necessary
  • Carrying out certain IT Functions from process documents having been given relevant training (e.g. staff leaver process)
  • Updating the team’s systems as required for example updating the Ticketing system with order progress information for relevant jobs
  • Using office equipment, such as printers, scanners and photocopiers
  • Setting up and maintaining filing systems
  • Updating information on computer databases
  • Assisting colleagues as necessary
  • Ad hoc duties as required

Your reception duties will include;

  • Dealing with internal and external correspondence
  • Answer main telephone, screen and direct calls
  • Take and relay messages
  • Provide information to callers
  • Greet persons entering C Spencer Ltd
  • Direct persons to correct destination
  • Deal with queries from clients
  • Ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of C Spencer Ltd
  • Receive and process mail and deliveries

Qualifications and experience 

  • Good GCSE grades A-C in Maths & English (or equivalent)
  • Experience is desirable but not essential
  • An interest in working within the IT department is desirable
