Port Dundas Reconnection - Spencer Group

Port Dundas Reconnection

The works re-connect Spiers Wharf and Pinkston Basin in Port Dundas after a break of almost 40 years. It forms the final link in the £85m cross-Scotland Forth and Clyde Canal ‘Millenium Link Project’.

Spencer’s work involved the design and construction of two lock gates – creating a negative impoundment of the canal – two new road bridges, an extensive canal pond together with extensive associated dredging and excavation works and major service diversions.
