Creating landmarks for a major city
The Marine Skills Centre project centred upon creating a world class teaching space on the Clyde Waterfront, beside Albert Bridge in Glasgow. The result was a new landmark on the banks of the river and state-of-the-art practical facilities for students.
The new build aspects were designed to achieve the BREEAM “excellent” rating – a quality scheme to ensure the building is environmentally friendly.
Using multi-disciplinary disciplines for outstanding results
The project involved the design, piling and construction of the leading-edge college facility. During this project, Spencer maintained good relations with local businesses and residents by restricting noise levels at certain periods of the day, in addition to working around logistical issues such as using and transporting large plant in a shallow river environment.
