Spencer Group boasts a large, innovative team of specialists covering complex integrated programmes. We have extensive experience in the replacement of life-expired uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, including detailed design, installation and commissioning of the overall UPS systems and renewals of expired points heating pads. We also have experience in undertaking multiple E&P tasks including station and footbridge lighting, mast and junction lighting as well as in the application of renewable energy and new technologies including gasification, wind and solar power.


Spencer is a specialist in complex, integrated telecommunication solutions, with dedicated and experienced teams. We are well equipped to integrate emerging technologies as part of the RCS, including GSM-R and fibre optics. Our telecoms teams can support project delivery as well as undertaking specialist work in operational communication networks, station information and surveillance systems. We also encompass the provision of line-side telecoms on the large proportion of multi-disciplinary projects, including PZTs, SPTs, DDO, level crossing systems and associated cables.

Spencer provides a unique turnkey approach to design and deliver complex multi-disciplined M&E projects through full design Grip stages 1-5 and delivery through Grip stages 6-8.

The company provides design and engineering management assurance, project management and delivery as well as resource management and planning.

Spencer has dedicated in-house CEM & CREs, M&E Design engineers, Design Co-ordinators, Project Managers and Site Engineers delivering turnkey M&E solutions. Spencer always endeavour to create a key stakeholder interface to ensure integration of services within the wider scheme are co-ordinated and delivered effectively and efficiently with clear communication.

Spencer manages site logistics, installation and the inspection, testing, entry into service and commissioning (ITESC) of all mechanical, electrical and telecom systems on any given scheme to support overall project delivery.

The scope of E&P services Spencer provide ranges from electrical power distribution of all voltage ranges through to train fuelling systems. Telecoms services include operational and retail telecoms from CCTV (including DOO) through to line side telephones.
