Our multi-disciplinary teams have extensive experience of driving its clients’ vision and value proposition when it comes to depots. Delivered in-house, our design team ensure all considerations are made when designing a new facility. We also boasts expert knowledge of specialist M&E and a multi-disciplinary skills base to deliver all aspects of works within a depot.
Spencer Group specialises in delivering Rail Depot’s and its team is well placed to develop facilities through a combination of experience and a multi-disciplinary skills base. Spencer’s in-house designers apply years of knowledge delivering depots to ensure all considerations are made for a new facility. This ensures CET, fuelling systems, train wash, HVAC, fume extraction, wheel lathe and maintenance/inspection facilities are delivered to the client’s requirements. As part of a project, Spencer can complete large scale amendments – from altering the structure and foundations of the building to reducing the steel stools supporting the track in the depot. Measures and approaches that ensure that our projects are delivered to cost and specification.
Bridgeworks represent a founding discipline of Spencer Groups work. Its rail division undertakes renewal, refurbishment and new build projects. Spencer’s in-house engineers, designers and project managers provide innovative solutions to overcome the challenges of confined working, difficult access, protected natural habitats, restrictive possessions and listed structures.
Spencer delivers renewals and new build structures to support station works, line upgrades and maintenance programmes. The adoption of modular steelwork and concrete structures allows Spencer to undertake complex bridge installations during restrictive possessions. Spencer also provide specialist restoration, strengthening and re-construction for all types of historic bridges, including iron, masonry and brick and timber.
Stations & Interchanges
Spencer Group is positioned to provide integrated solutions for passenger environments across the world’s rail networks – with station works being a principal delivery function. Spencer’s experience ranges from major city multi-modal interchanges, like Hull Paragon, to local London stations on the Wessex Platform Extension project. Landmark stations of local significance are provided through our in-house design, architectural, M&E, structural and civil functions. Similarly, Spencer has undertaken the refurbishment and enhancement of Grade I and II listed stations, such as, Sheffield Station and Paisley Gilmour Street Station.
Spencer’s in-house knowledge of integrating building works with works on the operational infrastructure enables the company to offer a full design and build service for new build stations. Whether restoration, refurbishment, access improvement or new-build, Spencer has a comprehensive suite of capabilities, to offer the correct solution for passenger requirements.
